Hearing the accent in his answer back was enough confirmation to get Lydia moving forward to meet him in the middle. He was hot in his picture. ...he was hotter up close. Lydia, without realizing she was even doing it, started preening a little as she walked, her fingers brushing themselves through her long, red hair.
"That's me," she affirmed with a smile. When she was close enough, she let her hands fall away from her hair and held one out for him to shake. "It's nice to meet you for real," she told him with a bright smile.
It was almost a shame that it was a first meeting and they had important things like food, water, and shelter to be concerned with just then because she bet herself she could climb him like a tree. There would be plenty of time for that, though, she figured. "My friends, apparently, are here. From home. They found fresh water...do you want to come? I didn't realize they were here, but since they've already found step one to survival in the jungle, I probably shouldn't pass that up," she said. Her smile fell a little. A large part of her actually kind of wanted to, needed to distance herself from them for a little while until she was more comfortable with the idea of them being here for this project when she hadn't expected anyone she knew to be around. It sort of threw a giant wrench in the way she planned to carry herself and function in this project.
