Amanda & OTA
While she was still vaguely concerned that word of Charles' revelation and her quiet but obvious intimacy with him last week might bring some sort of confrontation with someone, Amanda was actually coming to the bonfire considerably lighter and less anxious than she normally did. She couldn't discount the effect of...whatever she had with Charles was having. Having someone to talk to who she wasn't overly concerned about scaring off with some of the more uncomfortable facts of her life--especially someone she could talk to without needing to actually speak out loud--was far more comforting than she would have expected.
And the sex was definitely helping too. She hoped it wasn't too shallow that just having someone calling her gorgeous and happily helping her learn how to be a good lover was making her feel almost as Nick's compliments on her work. Maybe better, considering there had always been that undercurrent of wanting more from Nick and frustration that he never saw it.
At any rate, she arrived at the bonfire with a smile that was so much easier than it usually was when she came to them, sitting by the fire sipping water from one of the coconut shells and just feeling and looking much more at peace than she often did.
