Bruce laughed with her. "Oh, it's not like that with me and Maria," he said. "I mean, we're friends and we agreed to have a baby for Arva. That's it." And she was the only women he'd slept with since Jemma left, but that was something he didn't think let himself think about. It was purely a matter of circumstance, of the fact that so many of the women here were young enough to be his daughter, that kept him from having more sexual relationships. It had nothing to do with feelings.
Neither did Maria's pregnancy mood swings. They were just a result of her hormones being out of whack. At least that is what he was going to keep telling himself.
