Her smile returned like a bright light across her features. Lailah hadn't chosen this vessel for its appearance. The woman had been gentle, kind, a Pediatrics ICU nurse. A disease was taking her life. Lailah gave her a better offer. She had learned that others found the vessel attractive, but they had all seemed...selfish in their compliments. This young man's compliment was different. It pleased her.
