He listened though, feeling a bit like a jackass for not having just known this in the first place. It wasn't like he hadn't suspected, or even been aware of a lot of it. He just -- maybe it was this place, the island. The false sense of security that had been seeping into his bones the last week or so.
"No, of course," he murmured softly. "That makes sense. I understand." And he was sorry that it had to be that way, that Bucky couldn't trust anyone or himself the way he should have been able to. He didn't think his friend would want that apology though. "How can I help?"
