Abby & Bucky
Abby was used to being in a fight against things much more powerful than she was and even if they weren't sharp she could do a lot of damage with the blades in the toes of her boots. With a snap kick they'd still go in, just not as easily. "Oh good they should be sharp any time now. I got here about a week ago so maybe if we wait until tomorrow or the next day I'll be armed." She brightened at the idea. It would be good to be able to hunt with her own equipment.
"They could drain you. Or they could bite you and infect you so you slowly turned into one of them. Usually they wanted to kill you because they wanted to control who would be one of them." But they never had a short supply of humans stupid enough to kill and spy for them even if most of them never earned the reward of a bite. "It's quiet. And no one has given me the don't turn your back on me vibes yet but I keep looking. I think at some point if I can trust someone I want to double up in a shelter so I can at least feel like someone else is keeping watch at night."
