"Thank you," Sydney said, taking the makeshift cup of water, grateful that he dropped the subject of how much she should or shouldn't be eating. She knew that a lot of people would find her habits unhealthy, but her father's constant berating of her and how she didn't look as slender as the genetically enhanced Moroi had left it's toll.
She looked over the spread and selected a ripe peach. "It's beautiful here," she said. "I mean, the entire island is beautiful, but this spot is really lovely." And it was private, which was nice. Sydney wasn't sure exactly what Simon's intentions were for this date, but regardless, it was nice to have some peace and quiet away from the rest of the volunteers.
