Sydney sat carefully on the cloth he found to cover the sand, smoothing her skirt over her legs so she wasn't inadvertently flashing him. "Thank you," she said, her cheeks flushing slightly at the compliment. He really was an attractive man and she liked that he was a doctor. It meant he was intelligent and compassionate. At least she assumed it did.
"I don't eat a lot," she added. "So this will be fine." She was getting a little more comfortable with her body, but was far from completely over her issues. Getting the coffee pot had made it even easier for her to avoid overeating. Coffee was an excellent appetite suppressant and gave her plenty of energy. It may not be the healthiest attitude towards food, but it worked for Sydney.
He found a lovely spot and none of the other volunteers were around which certainly contributed to the date like feel of the meal. Sydney rather liked it.
