Quinn's blue eyes shifted down, falling on the tasty, tantalizing fruit and vegetables he'd gathered. "Those look really good," Quinn remarked, stepping forward an inch more for a better look. She could smell the sweet scent coming from the fruit and it made her mouth water. If anything, Quinn should have taken on the role of a gatherer. She lack a lot of strength to hunt or built, but plucking fruit and vegetables? It sounded easy enough. Yet, she refrained from participating much more than attending the bonfires and sharing brief, random conversations on the network. Maybe that was her problem...the lack of participation.
She peered past him, catching sight of a sliver of produce behind his shoulder. Even without sight, she could have smelled fruit; it was potent and powerful. "I could help. Get some more for us-" Quinn broke off. He was right; their garden here was flourishing and definitely provided nourishment, but they needed to make it bigger and add more variety. At the thought, Quinn once more couldn't help, but feel frustrated with herself. Like most everything about this place, she didn't know the first thing about gardening. Maybe her plot in this entire thing was just to be pregnant like Malia and many others. Still, she'd been there, done that, and while Beth was the most precious gift she'd ever been given, she didn't know if she was ready to be a mother. Her past experience with Beth was enough of a warning away from that road, but she'd been a teenager then, too. No, Quinn refused to be useful for simply procreation.
"You're right. If you want, I'd love to help you. I don't really have any experience with agriculture, but I'm a fast learner," Quinn replied. She couldn't have managed to land a place as a student in Yale if she didn't grasp unfamiliar things at a quick and solid pace. "And I'm up for learning." Part of her wondered if he would laugh at her. Granted her time here had lengthened her hair and her clothes were far from as perfect as they'd been at her arrival, but she knew she projected a blond, preppy, and way too refined for this sort of place, paradise or not. If he did, Quinn couldn't blame him.
