Sara was glad to be back on the island. It hadn't been easy for her to decide to go back home, to be stuck in 1958, but Arva assured her that she would always have the option to return if she wanted and she knew she couldn't hide away forever. Going back and re-joining the League of Assassins seemed like the right thing to do in the moment. She was grateful that Rip the others managed to come back for her and Ray and Kendra, even though it took them two years.

Talking to Ray was something she knew she was going to have to do eventually now that she was back, but she wasn't really looking forward to it. There was no way she was going to tell him about his relationship with Kendra, not when it seemed so tentative. Especially knowing what Felicity did to him. She also didn't really want to talk about their most recent adventure and how they almost got all of their loved ones killed by Savage. Though she still thought that baby Snart was pretty damn adorable.

She was glad to throw herself into gathering wood and working on setting up the weekly bonfire. It was something to focus on that wasn't thinking about the things she experienced while she was gone. Hopefully she would be able to reconnect with some of the people she knew before or make some new connections tonight. Plus they had coffee now.

Her eyes moved over to Derek in a brief and disappointed glance, her disbelief thinly veiled as she let her line of vision return to her coffee. That wasn't true, she knew that now. Apparently Derek cared so much about the opinions of those from his home town that he was willing to hide himself from them in the effort to avoid negative attention. Or, even worse, he was himself around them, and it was Larissa who he wasn't truly genuine with. The simple thought was enough to make her chest ache, because she had never even considered that Derek was the kind of man who hid himself away. What else didn't she know of him?

Her lips parted to protest once more but she struggled to find her voice, and in that lull Derek continued before finishing with a confession that brought heat to her face. It shouldn't have come to any surprise to her but, of course, it did. It had been a year after all, Derek had come here to move on, and although fate had brought them together once more that didn't mean the intention was to bring things back to the way they were. To assume so could lead to another round of heartbreak and Larissa was too careful to jump into something like that head first.

She stared up at him as he moved her, pulling her to her feet, and his request finally managed to get a tiny smile out of her that was paired with a somewhat challenging look. She didn't know if she believed him, so instead she let her arms slowly slip their way around his shoulders to hold him close. "Yes you do," she insisted quietly, unable to keep herself from drawing him closer and moving one hand from the back of his neck to thread through his short hair.

"I'm sorry, my sweet wolf," she said regretfully with a frown, slowly swaying with him on the spot as she held his gaze. "For the first time I didn't recognize the man I loved and that frightens me. I've never felt you to be a stranger to me." Her fingers moved from his hair to the side of his face, tracing his jaw. "...I know you didn't come here for me. You owe me no explaination, I was just surprised. Not pleasantly."

Larissa wet her lips before catching his eye once more with a wide eyed gaze of her own. "I became upset because you - you will always have that effect on me. I will always feel as if you know me better than anyone ever could, and I thought that - no. I've just always wanted to be that for you, my love. It hurts me to think that perhaps I hadn't managed to be."

Shaking his head, Derek drew her close, tilting his head down to look her in the eye. Old habits died hard. She had switched to English and he would continue in Portuguese, something they had always done: when they spoke of important things, they did so in one another's native languages.

“Não, eu não. Se eles querem olhar , deixá-los olhar. Eles nunca terá importância tanto para mim quanto você. Você sabe que cada parte de mim; eles nunca poderiam me conhece como você faz, por isso, se eles querem tentar e eles querem olhar, em seguida, deixá-los. Eu não me importo,,” he told her. His eyes closed in a slow blink and Derek leaned into her touch.

So many women had touched him since he'd arrived on the island; more in those weeks alone than the rest of his life combined. But it was never the same. They never managed to touch his heart quite the way Larissa always could. Hers was always a touch he craved. She felt like home to Derek. Maybe she always would.

There was a heavy ache in his heart with the worry that he'd put her off to the point that she wouldn't trust him the way she used to and she was the only one who trusted him that way. Even Cora still had a wall built up in some spaces between them. The thought of losing that was unbearably painful.

“Portanto, não se arrepender. Eu sinto Muito. Mas há algumas partes de mim que eu não queria se misturar com o meu passado, porque eles são o meu presente; meu futuro. Eu exagerei e eu sinto muito.,” he said softly; shamefully. “Por favor me perdoe.”

Larissa's face softened a little when Derek apologized to her, gaze slipping down to his chest as she placed her hands against it with a gentle touch. Her concerns were still there, Larissa wasn't one to just forget about her gut feeling, but she had a weakness when it came to Derek and apparently, she always would. When he promised her something, when he spoke to her like she was the only person who mattered in the world, Larissa believed him. No matter what he said, or what he hid, Derek had never wished anything but the best for her, and that was what mattered in the end.

"You do not know if they're your future, meu amor," she reminded him in a soothing voice, her hands slipping up so that she was holding his shoulders instead as she looked up at him with eyes that held only sympathy and adoration instead of hurt or betrayal. "That's why it's the future. You don't know what will happen to make you who you are tomorrow. Or if you'll be here." She held no fear when she said it, and the words came more 'matter of fact' than they would have for someone else. That is why we must be the person today that we could be proud of tomorrow. Today, we must be the person that we want others to remember, but most importantly, we must be the person that we ourselves wish to leave behind."

The slightest of smiles moved to her face as her hand moved to his, holding the side so her thumb could slide against his cheek. "You are always forgiven, my dearest man. You know that." Larissa leaned into him, and she was, easily, close enough to press a kiss against the soft frown of his lips. She wouldn't, though, and it had nothing to do with whether or not she wanted to. Of course she wanted to, but Larissa also knew Derek, and she knew how fate worked. In any other situation she would have closed the space between them, but he had come here to move on from her, that wasn't difficult to see. Larissa knew Derek's history with women, that he had shared with her, and although she knew that he would never perceive her as similar to any of them that didn't mean she didn't want to make sure she treated him in the way none of them had the decency to do.

So she didn't initiate, despite the ache for him she had in her heart, because Derek had enough of being led by women. He had enough of being taken advantage of, of being swayed in the favor of someone else, and Larissa knew that. If he pulled her into him then it would mean he wanted to, that he decided to try again at something that was pulled away from both of them unjustly. It meant that he would be able to make that decision for himself, not because a woman led him in that direction, and things like that, she believed, we're the reason that they had fallen so very in love. It wasn't enough to love Derek. Larissa respected him. She respected what he had gone through. And above all else, despite her strong personality and fierce independence, she was willing to take the back seat, and actually allow Derek to drive something in the direction he wanted. She believed that to be important to him.

"Sim eu aceito," he replied. "Eu sei que aqui." Derek pressed one of his hands over hers on his chest. "Você me um homem melhor feita. Você é meu futuro. Eu sei disso. Eu sei que aqui. Eu me senti assim por um longo tempo e que a única razão pela qual estou aqui é porque eu comecei a duvidar de meus instintos . Você é o meu futuro, Larissa. Você é tudo que eu quero."

Derek hadn't ever really believed in fate, because if he did, it would mean that fate had dealt him a pretty shitty hand for most of his life before he'd found Larissa, but sometimes, moments like these would make him think that maybe there was something to all the faith she had in fate and destiny. Larissa leaned close but she didn't initiate a kiss. Derek knew why. He knew her better than he knew anyone, including himself sometimes, and he knew that she was holding back to let him make the call. Derek didn't even have to pause to think about it.

He closed the gap between them, pressing his lips to hers for the first time in what felt like forever and he let his hand fall away from his chest to hold her face, thumb brushing gingerly over her cheek as he held her jaw. Derek didn't waste time thinking, because he didn't need to. This was the only woman he'd ever loved who had loved him back. This was the woman who had opened his eyes to the fact that there was a light at the end of the tunnel. She knew everything he hid away from the rest of the world. When Derek thought about his future, she was in it. He hadn't ever intended on staying here; he'd always meant to go back home and hope that she'd come back to him someday, but now he didn't actually need to, because she was here.

When he parted from her, it was just barely and his lips were still brushing hers when he whispered. "Eu nunca deixei de amar você e eu nunca vou. Quando eu olhar para o futuro, imagino que nele, assim como nós falamos. Eu tenho esse tempo todo. Quando eu penso sobre o meu futuro, tudo o que posso sempre pensar em você. Eu te amo. Eu te amo tanto, Larissa. Eu te amo tanto."

There was an undeniable wave of relief when Derek told Larissa that she was all he wanted, because she had been doubting that since her arrival. If Derek had wanted to move on from her she would let him, she owned nothing about him and only appreciated having him when she was able to, but in reality Larissa would never truly move on from Derek. They had fallen hard and fast, not due to a naive vision of love but due to the kinship of finding light in a hardened world with each other. Derek was the only one she had found that light with. Losing it truly felt like being surrounded by darkness.

He was the only one that made Larissa come even close to doubting her almost unwavering faith in fate. The way he came out of nowhere, the way she had found him there, it was as if he managed to follow her despite how much her winding road changed and led her away from him, and Larissa loved him for that. He made her unsure of her own future for the first time in so long, and although it was terrifying, it was somewhat thrilling as well. He made her feel alive.

She kissed him back deeply, her arms wrapping around his shoulders, and in that moment Larissa felt like she had finally come home. After a year of being heartbroken and watching her mother wither away, after a year of feeling alone and insignificant, Larissa found her warmth and light again in Derek's arms and the world around her stopped existing. In that moment, he was her everything, and Derek was one of the most wonderful worlds to live in. Her eyes stayed shut when he pulled away from her and Larissa clung onto him a little tighter than before, holding him close, and he brought a smile to her that lit up her face. "I love you too, my love, so very much. I always will. You've become such a part of me, I can feel it. I felt it when we were apart, every day I did, I felt the open space in my heart where you belonged and it pained me, Derek, so much. When Cora said that you left I had been so- I was so distraught, I thought I had lost you forever. I couldn't bear the thought, the thought that my destiny was to be without you. I couldn't bear the thought that perhaps fate had been wrong, for the first time in my life."

She pulled him in again, kissing him once more with her hand slipping to the back of his neck to hold him in place, and Larissa could feel everything fall back into place. It wasn't as if she was experiencing anything new, the fluttering in her stomach and the rush in her head, but it felt like familiarity returning, the type that she hadn't expected to ever experience again, and in that moment everything was perfect. She held him in place, refusing to let him pull away as her forehead rest against his own when her lips parted from him a second time. "I've never wanted anything more than how much I wish to be with you. I will always love you, meu lobo doce, always. I am not sure of anything tomorrow, anything but that."

A wave of relief washed over Derek when she returned the sentiment, and he couldn't believe that he finally had her back. Neither of them had put the label on it yet, but Derek knew. They didn't have to say it. He was made for her; she was made for him. They completed one another in a way that Derek previously would've thought silly and childish to think about, but now that he'd experienced it, he understood. Having that piece of his heart and soul back felt incredible.

"Eu nunca quis nada tanto quanto eu quero estar com você, qualquer um. E agora estamos aqui...podemos começar nossas vidas juntos. Nós podemos começar uma família. Nós podemos fazer tudo o que falamos," he said, his words coming out just over a whisper and rapid, at that, with his excitement and exhilaration. He felt like he'd been brought back to life. "Volte para o meu abrigo comigo. Fique comigo esta noite , deixe-me te abraçar. Deus , eu perdi segurando você..." he added softly.

Derek lifted her into his arms, kissing her softly again as he hooked an arm beneath her backside when her legs wrapped around his waist to keep herself upright. "Eu também te amo, minha linda mocha princesa. Vamos ficar sozinha, agora, e falar. Temos um monte de recuperar o que fazer," he whispered, nuzzling his nose against hers as he walked back to the shelter with the love of his life finally back in his arms once again.
