Sara was glad to be back on the island. It hadn't been easy for her to decide to go back home, to be stuck in 1958, but Arva assured her that she would always have the option to return if she wanted and she knew she couldn't hide away forever. Going back and re-joining the League of Assassins seemed like the right thing to do in the moment. She was grateful that Rip the others managed to come back for her and Ray and Kendra, even though it took them two years.

Talking to Ray was something she knew she was going to have to do eventually now that she was back, but she wasn't really looking forward to it. There was no way she was going to tell him about his relationship with Kendra, not when it seemed so tentative. Especially knowing what Felicity did to him. She also didn't really want to talk about their most recent adventure and how they almost got all of their loved ones killed by Savage. Though she still thought that baby Snart was pretty damn adorable.

She was glad to throw herself into gathering wood and working on setting up the weekly bonfire. It was something to focus on that wasn't thinking about the things she experienced while she was gone. Hopefully she would be able to reconnect with some of the people she knew before or make some new connections tonight. Plus they had coffee now.

Chloe had had coffee. Lots and lots of coffee. She almost felt like she was back to normal. Almost. The one thing she lacked to make that image complete was a wall of monitors, several servers and harddrives, a keyboard and a mouse. She was making due with the bracelet and figuring out what all it could do as it was, and taking advantage of the caffeine in her system to work her brain on what it might be able to do.

Sitting at the bonfire gathering she was toying around with trying to get into the deeper settings of the bracelet. She had stopped paying attention to the people around her five minutes after getting here. Someone could possibly step over her and she wouldn't even notice.

Malia still wasn't feeling very social. She hadn't for a long time, since the beautiful place she thought she'd found had exploded all around her. She was acutally quite a bit better at being antisocial than she was at being social, so she hadn't minded that much. Or at least, she hadn't minded as much as she'd hated feeling like the world was against her. It wasn't that she thought she was being victimized, exactly. No. She felt - she knew that it was her fault as much as anyone else's, but that didn't make her feel any better. It sucked regardless.

So as she looked around her, she sat tiredly near a girl who looked like she wasn't paying attention. She wasn't in much of a mood to talk, but she wasn't in much of a mood to be alone, either.

It took a few moments before Chloe realized she wasn't alone. A random glance in Malia's direction was acknowledged with a doubletake then followed with a cheerful smile.

"Oh, hey!" Chloe said. "Sorry. Hope you weren't sitting there for too long while I forgot everything and everyone around me existed." Her eyes took in the pregnant tummy and Chloe realized who it was sitting there. The scary one, but she looked miserable. Chloe couldn't be afraid of someone who looked like someone kicked their puppy.

"It's okay," Malia said with a shrug. "I'm in one of those moods where I don't really feel all that social, at the same time that I really don't want to be alone, you know?" Malia wasn't sure that made even a little bit of sense when she said it out loud, but she knew what she meant.

"Just kind of wanted to be around people."

She put her hand on her tummy and sighed.

"I'm Malia."

"Yeah," Chloe said with understanding. "I get that." That was the same kind of mindspace Chloe had been in before she came here. She hadn't wanted to be around anyone after Jimmy, thrown herself into work. Even pulled Ollie back from the brink. She'd set things in motion to go on without her while she took Arva up on the offer. She knew that being around people reminded you that you were still alive without needing to interact.

"Hi, Malia," she said then held out her hand without any hint of hesitation. "I'm Chloe."

	"I kinda suck at being social," she said bluntly. It was what it was. She knew it. "But I'm really super good at making people hate me, so that counts for something, right?" 	Chloe's brows lifted. Yikes. Malia was really in a bad place, and being pregnant couldn't be helping that. Chloe turned toward her as she reached out to put her hand on Malia's arm. Malia stared at her for a long moment, trying to decide whether or not she was telling the truth. Her heart wasn't beating fast, so she had to assume that she was...or that she'd convinced herself that she wasn't afraid of Malia. She supposed that it could go either way.

"I'm good at feeling sorry for myself, too," she shrugged. "And even better lately. I think it's the baby."

Chloe could lie. She was really good at lying, but that wouldn't help Malia. Chloe liked helping people. She was better at that than lying.

She offered Malia a smile and didn't take her hand back. "Being pregnant makes for a wacky trip down the emotional highway normally. Cramming it all into three months has to make it even worse."

She scooted a little closer so she could keep her voice down while they spoke. She wasn't aware of Malia's enhanced hearing. "Look. All of us screw up at some point. Sometimes really badly. I know I did." And it got Jimmy killed. "But you can't live in the mistake. Own up to it, yes, but if you let it keep you down then the mistake just lives on. Learn from it, but move on." Easier to tell someone else that than herself.

	Malia shrugged. This was one of those things that was easy to say, but far harder to actually do. Although the woman probably had a good point. "I'm really not that scary," she said softly. Letting people get to know her wasn't something that Malia was particularly good at. Quite the opposite, actually. She wasn't quiet or shy, but she definitely kept her secrets to herself. Whether it was natural or learned, it was hard to say. Surely, though, eight years in the woods with no counsel to keep but her own had made her more private than she otherwise would have been.

"I mean, I guess I'm not, you know?" She shrugged. Telling her that she'd killed her mother and sister probably wasn't the best thing to do right now. "I can be dangerous and scary, but everyone can, you know? I think it's just because I'm not very good at acting human. People can get really crazy about that."

Just because she liked to eat raw rabbit didn't mean she was a bad person.

	"We all have our differences, Malia," Chloe shrugged with her smile staying in place. "It's what makes us stand out. And you should see me. I can be pretty vicious when I need to be.
