Nick couldn't help himself, with the invitation he had to look Maria over in a bit of a more thorough manner. If nothing else, Nick liked what he saw...an athletically built female who obviously took care of herself. Soldier, yeah totally, but Nick couldn't say that he was against the idea of taking a few orders from her, like a private might, at some point....because she'd probably make it well worth his while.
"Well, if nothing else you've got that as a takeaway from this experience." Nick joked, somewhat amused. He couldn't say that he planned on leaving....because he wasn't planning to go anywhere. This was the only place where he might actually get to keep not only his child, but the mother, if he got so lucky as to find someone. There wouldn't be the necessity to kidnap his child, and for him that made it well worth it.
"I won't be making recommendations to my pack to build an obstacle course, personally." Nick responded with that goofy ass grin on his face, obviously not serious about that, but teasing her. "No, I was letting my furry side get a good run in. All work and no fuzzy time makes Nick a bit quick to change into a wolf without meaning to. And grumpy. So, I make sure I get plenty of runs in." Nick explained, shrugging.
