That mischievous glint reminded Barry a little of Iris and, as Martha relayed her story of revenge, he couldn't help but laugh. That absolutely sounded like something Iris would have done to him in the same circumstances. "Oh, Martha, remind me not to ever cross you," he joked. Not that he was planning to cross her — she was beautiful, smart, and funny — but he felt it needed to be said regardless.
He gave her a smile when she squeezed his arm, appreciating that she didn't push him for more information about his mother's murder. Given the outcome of that whole mess, how his attempt to save his mother put his entire planet at risk thanks to Zoom, he wasn't keen to discuss it. He also didn't want to get into how his father spent all those years locked up, falsely accused of the murder of the wife that he adored.
