Three weeks was a fair amount of time compared to her measly one. She imagined that he knew his lay of the land, and knew all the women folk intimately. Maybe she was foolish to think that she could take the casual out of casual sex, but she believed that it was important to at least know the person a bit before she shagged them.
"It's nice having someone here," she said, and she was ever so thankful that at least she had Jack Harkness here with her. They had only known one another a short time on her travels with The Doctor, but it was better than having no one at all. It seemed as if the gods of this island were generous and thoughtful with who they brought with them.
She smiled when Barry offered her his arm, and gladly accepted. She slipped her hand into the crook of his elbow and rested it there. "It truly is amazing to see everyone working together. I've seen so much animosity amongst people in my life, and I never quite understood it. We're all living on this planet together, we should at least try to get along." She sighed wistfully, and glanced up at Barry.
"Tell me, how did you come to a forensic scientist back home. It must be fascinating work."
