WHO: Finnick and Briseis WHAT: Talking and going for a walk WHEN: Sunday before sunset WARNINGS: Probably not STATUS: Closed, Incomplete
Finnick hadn't been able to work on his boat the Magdalena II at all the past few days due to the rain and being busy with the building. In fact he hadn't even set eyes on her and that was beginning to worry him. Now that the weather was clear he intended to get back to work, at least an hour or two in the mornings or evening when he wasn't working on the medical facility construction.
He also hadn't seen Briseis since the rain started, so what could be better than going to check on his two best girls at once? He'd get to catch up with Bri while going to show her his pride and joy.
So far the Maggie was just a simple dugout. He had cut down a large hardwood, cut a log about 20 feet long from the trunk, removed the bark and hollowed it out. He'd begun to shape the stern and prow so that it would cut through the waves more easily, but he wasn't finished with that part yet. Eventually he might add outriggers and a sail, but that was way down the road. He hadn't even made sure she would float yet. Still it was nice to think about that stuff. He'd love to have a real sailboat some day. Even if he couldn't visit other islands, it would still be nice just to be out on the water sometimes.
He walked to Briseis' shelter and called out to her since there wasn't really a door to knock on. "Hi Briseis. I'm here."
