Four days of nonstop rain had most of the people on the island feeling out of sorts and on edge. At least the main camp area stayed dry the past few days so that they could begin building the medical center, but Sydney was glad she suggested another bonfire for this evening, figuring that everyone could use an opportunity to relax and socialize. Maybe by fostering the sense of community even more, they would appease the gods and finally get the sunshine back.

There was plenty of food available for everyone and the fire was blazing for both light and warmth. Off to one side, the finished boards were set up for Cam's bean bag toss game. They really did need to figure out some additional leisure activities they could partake in here without equipment. It was too bad they didn't have a radio.

"It's okay," Sydney said, relaxing a little at his apology. "I know it's a bit unusual for someone like me to come to a place like this. That's why I'm taking my time with the whole physical thing."

She hesitated for a moment and then decided that she probably shouldn't mention that he was only her second kiss ever. That might be too much pressure or something. "What do you mean, someone like you?"

	"Yeah." He nodded. "That's a good idea. Taking your time is good." Not as good as going home and waiting to actually fall in love would be, but he wasn't about to say that to her after he's already offended her. It was her business. 	Sydney could recognize evasiveness and figured there was no point in pressing him for more answers. It wasn't any of her business, no more than her choices were his business. "Yeah, everybody has their reasons." It seemed so many of them were running from something.

He put his hand up to the back of his head and kind of rubbed it nervously. "Yeah, honestly, I liked kissing you too. Sorry I freaked out for no reason."

He wasn't willing to sleep with her, but according to her that was off the table anyway, so he didn't need to worry about it. So maybe making out a little was OK.

	Deciding that she should be brave, Sydney went up on her toes to kiss him again. He really was attractive and she still believed he was a nice person, even if she didn't particularly appreciate the way he questioned her reasons for being here. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"A bed?" He smiled. He hadn't been given a real bed yet, and had only spent one night in a bed on the island so far. "A bed would be amazing. I'd love to stay, but don't feel like you have let me spend the night. It's OK to kick me out after if you want. Some people sleep better alone, and I'm used to it. But if you want me to stay, then yes, I'd love to. Which way is it to your shelter?"
