Cam was getting on all right on the island so far. He'd had a couple of women, he was learning to use a bow and arrow for something useful, and he did what he could to help out around the camp, using his size and strength to help others build things and haul supplies, but he wasn't sure he'd actually made many friends or contributed a whole lot on that end of the spectrum. Community was important, he knew that, so maybe he needed to make more of an effort. When he saw the explosion on Finnick's post and the way it impacted Isaac — one of the few people he did like to consider a friend, so far, it was the least he could do to reach out. He'd already invited Sydney over, so he went and met her, walked her back, explained and told her she didn't have to feel obligated to wait up if she was tired.
He hadn't spent a long time out, but he tried to be there for Isaac in the only way he knew how at the time, which was to provide company and a distraction. He'd washed his hands of the mud and clay in the stream before heading back to his shelter and by the time he had gotten there, Sydney had fallen asleep. So, he'd kicked off his jeans and climbed in beside her, his back to her, and he'd fallen asleep, too. Isaac had given him a little shit about the fact that he was having a woman over and not intending to sleep with her, but it wasn't really like that with Sydney. If it got there, someday, that might be nice, but in the mean time, he just liked being friends with her. She was a nice girl caught up in a situation in which she was probably in a little over her head, and he liked that he could offer her support in a way that the others seemed to be struggling to do.
At some point in the night, he must have rolled over, because when he woke up, her back was nestled against his front and when she shifted, Cam groaned a little, yawning and opening his eyes. "Shit...sorry," he said, voice sleep choked. "I was laying the other way when I went to sleep..." Taking in a deep breath through his nose, Cam considered turning onto his back and decided against it, because then she'd see it if she didn't already feel it. ...oh, balls...he hadn't considered morning wood when he'd invited her over. He probably should've thought to warn her about that... Maybe she hadn't noticed what it was, just yet, and if she stayed still, maybe she wouldn't figure it out before he could motivate himself to get the hell out of bed and go to outside and empty his bladder to get rid of it.
