Nick inhaled, his eyes still closed. Either someone had put pretty much the most pleasant and beachy smelling glade in his room (not likely in a house full of werewolves with extremely sensitive noses), or he was on the beach. The mixture of scents mingling together made him feel relaxed just taking it in. It might have had something to do with the sunlight that he could feel coming down on him, along with the breeze. Actually, it definitely had something to do with that. It was pretty much the best feeling that he had felt in a while. Forcing his eyes to open, Nick took in the bright blue sky for a moment just laying there. He was on a beach, and definitely not in Stonehaven. That meant that he was here, he was a part of the project that he'd been offered. There had been a part of him that had been afraid of going for this whole thing, and he'd lie to anybody that asked him, as was basically his default on something that he wasn't confident about. Nick couldn't help but think about everything that had happened, and how different things were. He knew that everyone at home probably could use his help, but the fact of the matter was that despite the fact that he had taken over his father's position in the pack--fixing the problems--he wasn't any more important now that things had calmed. Logan was gone, Paige was gone, and things were different. Sure, there was Rocco and Rachel, and even Elena And Clay and Jeremy, but things were just...different. And there had definitely been a part of Nick that had felt outside of things now, not that he'd admit it, and not that he'd give up forcing himself into things as was his nature, but still. Paige had stomped on the heart that he had only just realized he could give, and that left him with foreign feelings that he didn't feel like he could even share. So, the offer....despite the fact that he had considered turning it down...had been one that he had accepted. And he wasn't going to overthink it now. This was a chance that he couldn't turn down. He was going to start things over in a new place, both literally and metaphorically. And the start of this new journey was definitely going to need a better start than sunning in his clothes. It was warm enough that he didn't need near as much clothing. So, putting the pack out of his mind, Nick pulled his hoodie off, followed very quickly by the v-neck t-shirt that he'd been wearing underneath, leaving his chest bare. "Much better!" Nick muttered to himself before he took the moment to study the bracelet. It was definitely not something that he would have picked out, so he could only assume that it had been a gift from the gods (and goddesses) here. Not one to waste time, it was only moments later that Nick was up on his feet (now bare). He could smell that people had been through here before. He could even hear sounds, though some were faint, that were most certainly other people. He wasn't in a hurry, though. How could he waste a gorgeous day, and beach, like this? The answer was he couldn't. So, off came the pants next, leaving all of his stuff in a pile. He wasn't too worried about them being stolen...mainly because if they were he'd get them back, plus, who would steal on an island where they were supposed to be working together. Either way, Nick left his stuff in a little pile and made his way out into the water, diving in. He spent a good few moments swimming and getting nice and soaking wet before he made his way out of the water, shaking....much like a dog as he exited the water. This was already relaxing. And Nick was going to do his best to do just that, along with be a part of this project. Swimming was acclimating himself to this place, yeah, that sounded legit. Even with the distraction of salt water, and the beauty, Nick could tell that someone was coming his way....even as he paused in shaking the droplets of water off of himself, making his way back toward his clothing and keeping his senses peeled....more out of curiosity than worry. |
