Ok, so she obviously didn't know about the drama in the Men's filter, and it was probably best to keep it that way. "The Comm box thing...it's nothing." He paused, considering what to tell her. He couldn't tell her about the blow up with Stiles, but he'd had a little discussion with Scott about Briseis too. He could tell her about that. "It's just...well, actually maybe you can help with that. A friend of mine, someone I feel sort of protective of, is interested in Scott. I just wanted to make sure he treated her right. Since you know him, can you tell me if he's a good guy? Should I be worried about him breaking her heart?"

Finnick's heart skipped a beat and his face lit up. "Really?" He tried to compose himself and not sound like an idiot. "I'm glad. I really like you, Lydia." He turned to face her and put his arms around her. He could have stopped there, and he wanted to, because it felt so damn good hearing her say that and knowing that it wasn't completely one sided. She felt at least a little bit of what he did and he was practically dizzy from relief.

But there was one more thing that was bothering him, and he knew he had to bring it up before he lost his nerve completely. "There's one thing I have to ask you, though." He took a deep breath, "Are you in love with Stiles, or dating him or anything? I know he's the father, and I know you've known him for a long time. I probably don't have the right to ask but...I've been in the situation before where I was the guy on the side, and I didn't like it. I want to be honest about that."
