"Hey," Finnick smiled the easy, slightly lopsided smiled that had once charmed all of Panem. It came so easily to him. It would be so easy to just slide back into playing that role, be whatever she wanted him to be and not risk any unpleasantness.
He put his arm around her as they started walking back to his hut. It wasn't far, and he should probably wait until they got there before saying much. At least that's what he told himself to buy himself a few more minutes. It was nice having his arm around her, and maybe that was enough. He didn't have to say anything. Except that if he didn't he'd still feel this terrible uncertainly in the morning.
"It's been a weird couple of days, hasn't it?" He figured that was a vague enough opening. He didn't know how much she knew about what had been said on the comm. Maybe Stiles had told her everything, maybe nothing. Probably not that much since she was here, and he wasn't about to bring it up directly.
