After a week of hard work trying to make this island into their new home, Stiles figured that they all deserved a little bit of a break. Plus, he thought it would be nice for folks to get to know each other a little better in a non-sexual way. It was really a shame that they didn't have alcohol, but then again, it didn't seem like most of the folks here needed it to loosen up and have a good time.

It had been a long time since Stiles was camping, but he still remembered the basics of how to build a good fire, so when the sun began to set, he headed to the beach, hauling a bunch of tree branches and some dried out leaves and smaller sticks to use as kindling. The flint was a bit trickier than using matches, but he managed to get it going and stood back with a satisfied smile as he watched the flames flicker and dance.

He just hoped that other people would come and hang out. Otherwise, this was going to be a lame ass party.

The night wasn't so cool that Stiles needed to be right up next to the fire and he eventually settled down on the sand a little ways back. He had shed his jeans and was only wearing his boxers and t-shirt. It would be really great if they could get some clothes made or something. These ones were getting pretty gross, even with hand washing them in the lake.

He leaned back on his elbows, stomach pleasantly full from the fire-roasted boar courtesy of Scott. It was a shame they couldn't make s'mores, but maybe they could roast peaches or something? He was pretty sure that was a thing that people did sometimes.

A bonfire on the beach sounded like great fun to Finnick. It reminded him of a more innocent time in his life, hanging out with his friends back in District 4, before he'd won the Hunger Games and everything had gone to hell.

He picked up a plate of food- well, what passed for plates here, anyway. A sort of mostly flat piece of wood. The wild boar smelled amazing. It would be a great change of pace after eating mainly fish and fruit for the past week. He walked around looking for a place to sit, and then saw one next to one of the younger guys. He didn't think they had met in person, but he was able to match a name with a face from the network.

"Hey, you're Stiles, right? Thanks for organizing this. It was a great idea."

Stiles was surprised and a little confused that his very first thought was 'damn, this guy was hot.' Sure, he might be a little bit curious about guys, but it wasn't anything he ever had given much thought to pursuing. Especially not here where they were supposed to be focused on rebuilding society and procreating.

"Uh, hey, yeah, that's me," he said, sitting up and running one hand over the back of his neck. "Sorry, I don't think I caught your name."

After talking to Sara this morning, Lydia decided that maybe it was best if she took some time to distance herself a little bit from the pack to clear her head. Stiles, Scott, and Malia were behind and Isaac had gone to France; he was practically a stranger, now, as much as she hated to feel that way. She needed to figure out where she stood and where her loyalties lie, and whether those loyalties would benefit or hurt her in the long run and she couldn't do that if she boxed herself in with the pack. Allison was probably turning in her grave at the very idea and it broke Lydia's heart to even think it, but this was a new place. She'd come here to get away from them to force some perspective on herself, but then they had been here as well. The only way was to take some time and space for herself. She'd have time before she would need Stiles hovering over her, and she and Isaac and she and Malia weren't terribly close to begin with. Scott was upset with her, anyway, so maybe now was a good time.

She ventured out of her shelter when the sun was down, having spent much of the day after training with Sara simply holed up in it, losing herself in thought. She might as well come out at some point. It probably wasn't her best decision, since she doubted her ability to shuffle through all of her feelings — about the pack; about the baby; about blurring the lines with Stiles and whether that made her a bad person — to put on the facade she too often wore for the benefit of others.

Lydia sat down on the jungle floor, a little ways back from the group, closer to the lake than the fire, and watched the flames in silence as they licked the air. If she didn't show up, people would notice because she'd been sociable, for the most part, up to now. Lydia wondered if maybe the questions would've been whispered to one another or maybe no one would've cared and just assumed she'd gone to bed if she hadn't come, now that she was out here and thinking about it. When she'd come out of the shelter, though, it had seemed like a good idea. Now if she left, almost undoubtedly, it would draw unwanted attention. So she sat. And thought. Off on her own.

Socializing. He could do that.

Isaac wasn't exactly a 'social' person, and maybe that should have been something to think about before he agreed to this whole thing to begin with. In his defense he didn't know how many people would be here, it was a larger group than he had anticipated, and despite the fact that he wanted to go out of his way to feel useful he still, in the end, felt uncomfortable in large groups. It was one of those things that came with his irreversible anxiety; large groups, small spaces, the dark, being in the center of a room, having the attention of more than a couple of people on him at one time. It was a balancing act, one that he was getting better with after the bite, but when he agreed to go to Stiles' bonfire he hadn't expected the turnout that it had. It was a bigger group than he was comfortable with and he could just feel his chest tighten by looking at them, so Isaac did what he always did. He stayed on the sidelines, in the periphery, because that was where he had always been the most comfortable.

He saw Lydia sitting on the jungle floor and decided to leave her be. They weren't close, and although he wanted to connect with her, probably out of guilt more than anything else, he also knew that it wasn't a realistic desire. Isaac and Lydia came from two different worlds and they would have never interacted if it wasn't for Scott's pack. There was no reason for him to force something while they were there, when their lives weren't in immediate danger. So he ignored her.

But more time passed and she had still been uninterrupted, which he found strange. Lydia was a social butterfly, she always had been, and yet there she sat staring at the fire with seemingly no intention of approaching the rest of the group. So why did she show up? He hated that he was concerned, because he knew that it was rooted in something that had nothing to do with Lydia as a person. She was Allison's best friend. He felt a sense of obligation, and he shouldn't because Allison was in the past. Beacon Hills was in the past. He had no business trying to infiltrate himself back into that group.

And yet he found himself walking back to his shelter and returning with the only shirt he had clutched in his hand, sitting beside her on the floor and holding it out for her to take. "I was wondering why you were sitting over here all by yourself." He gave a small, if not nervous smile. "Then I realized, it's obviously because you don't have the right outfit."

She supposed, belatedly, that she should eat something. Scott had brought boar, but a tiny part of her that she hated felt like she shouldn't because Scott had brought it and he'd already let her borrow his shirt. She didn't need to compound the ways she owed him when they weren't currently getting along very well. Her stomach growled a little and she sighed, eyes shifting in the direction of her shelter for a moment and she very much considered getting up and calling it a night right then and there, because there were peaches back in the shelter. Peaches and no people.

Hearing someone approach though, Lydia immediately and reflexively shifted into the facade she wore so well, and she looked up, following his movements with her eyes and head until he sat down beside her and held out his shirt. In spite of herself, at his comment, she laughed, shaking her head and rolling her eyes playfully as she took the offered shirt. "Yeah, that's why," she agreed, fingers moving absently around the fabric as she held it in her palms. "That's totally why."

The mask slipped a little, but she supposed that was okay because Isaac already knew where her head was at today. The smile she wore so falsely and so easily for others, she let fade back down to something more neutral, if a little sad. "It seemed like a good idea at the time," she said honestly, shrugging as she belatedly answered the question he had implied he was asking. "I'm probably going to head back soon. I should get some sleep; I train with Sara in the morning. She's been waking me up while I get used to the new schedule, but it'll be easier for her if I'm not exhausted," she rationalized.
