Katniss didn't expect the island to be real. She assumed she had hallucinated the whole thing, but no. Here she was.

She woke up with the distinct feeling on sand and sunlight. It wasn't a bad feeling. In fact, it was pretty nice. Warm. Comfortable. Well, the sand was a bit uncomfortable, actually. It wasn't unlike the dirt and grit of Twelve. But she wasn't there, she wasn't in Panem at all. No, she was somewhere else entirely. And that was okay. She'd agreed to come here, and she was excited about it.

She flung her hair behind her shoulder as she rose to her feet. It wouldn't stay, it never did. That's why she kept it tied back, often in braids. She looked around, then started for the path. She knew instinctively where it was. And where it would lead, but not who it would lead her to.

Johanna was sunbathing, enjoying the warmth on her skin. She was clothed this time, though because she wasn't quite in the mood for nudity. Hey, sometimes a girl just wasn't. You were as you were.

Her eyes were closed, though, which was why she didn't actually see the person who belonged to the footsteps she heard until they were coming closer. She opened her eyes and blinked.

"Holy shit, Katniss?"

"Johanna?" Katniss jogged the few steps to where the other girl lay in the sun. "You're here?" She found that odd, or at least shocking. Johanna hated water, but she was here, on the beach? On an island, surrounded by water.

More shocking was the fact that Katniss didn't expect to see anyone she knew here. She expected the island, if it was real, to be a complete and total escape from her life. No Peeta, no Gale, no lingering memories of Prim...She wanted a fresh start. How could she get a clean slate if Johanna Mason was here with her?

	"I've been here for a year," Johanna said, propping herself up on her elbows, the position curving her back and presenting her breasts a bit. She couldn't resist teasing her friend a little, okay? Katniss gave Johanna a 'don't fuck with me' sort of look. "I know what I signed up for," she said. Paradise. Not Panem. That was the key. She found a way to escape Panem once and for all. And if that meant she had to whore herself out...well, at least it was on her terms, and not Panem's.

Of course Johanna would see right through her. Johanna knew her. If she'd known Johanna was here...well, she would have still said yes. Because it was an escape, pure and simple. And it was Paradise, right? How terrible could it be, really?

"Hey, just making sure," Johanna said, laughing. "We've had some interesting experiences. Get someone to tell you about when this one poor guy had to explain to a guy named Greg about the having sex part of this place. The guy actually thought all this place was about was the literal rebuilding."

She collapsed back to the ground just so she could facepalm with both hands.

"It was pretty fucking classic."

She pulled her hands away from her face. "But other than that... seriously, though. Best thing about this place? Getting to choose who you fuck and when. Getting to choose if you fuck anyone. Because yeah, the purpose is sex and having children, but if I don't want to have sex for a while? I don't have to."

For someone like her? That was important.

Katniss listened. Johanna was so much more bold than she would ever be. She kind of admired that about the other young woman.

"Do you, I mean. Do you have a lot of sex here?" Yeah, maybe Katniss wasn't really looking forward to that. But she was here because it wasn't Panem. She could think about that when she was laying on her back.

It was kind of sad, she knew that. But she was willing to do it for the escape.

"When I feel like it." Johanna shrugged, propping herself back up on her elbows and looking over at Katniss. She looked nervous and... not so excited.

"Want to have sex with me, get it out of the way?" Johanna managed a shrug. "I mean, I know you don't like girls. But a little making out, some orgasms, someone showing you that sex is fun... that way you won't be nervous when you fuck a guy."

"I...you...what..." Katniss stammered, and her eyes went wide, staring at Johanna. Had the other girl really just suggested they have sex? How as Katniss supposed to respond to that? She had no idea what to say or do, or even how she wanted to respond. The idea intrigued her, but...well, she'd never had sex with anyone. She trusted Johanna, but did that mean she wanted Johanna to be her first?

"Or you could just come over here and we could make out a little, see how you like that," Johanna suggested when she saw the look on Katniss' face. "See how you want to go from there. Just ease you into the island. Because even when you know the purpose, even when you want to be here -- and we all do -- some people need to adjust."

She sat up properly. "I promise I'm not scary and I don't kiss like a slobbery dog."

	That image actually made Katniss laugh. "I hope not!" she said. "So...okay. Prove it." she challenged, but it was as much a challenge to herself as to Johanna. This was all new territory for her, and she as trying to jump in feet first. She might run back to safety, but she was going to take the leap at least and see how far she could go before she freaked out. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Johanna shifted, moving over to Katniss instead. And then, sitting next to the other girl, she brought a hand up to cup Katniss' neck as she leaned in, the kiss firm but not pushy. She did, however, let it linger. Just because she was easing Katniss in didn't mean she wasn't going to go for what she wanted at least a little. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
