Phil looked up when he caught movement out of the corner of her eye and smiled when he saw that it was Darcy. He was a little surprised to hear her say that she wanted to meet his daughter, but in a good way. Agreeing to be the father for Diana hadn't seemed like a big deal at the start of it, but after he'd mentioned it in passing to Darcy, it had seemed like a bigger deal.
"Hey," he replied, fondness clear in his tone. Phil couldn't even hide it anymore. "You've got good timing then. It'll be another day or two before both girls go to Arva." It helped for him because he wasn't emotionally invested in Diana's daughter in the same way he would have been invested if the child belonged to someone he had serious feelings for. Like Darcy.
"Diana had taken to calling her Daughter, so I've been sticking to that for the moment. So, Daughter, meet Darcy Lewis," he introduced, shifting so that his daughter could get a good look at Darcy. The baby cooed and smiled, reaching toward the pretty face in front of her.
