Phryne logically knew that this was the island she had learned about in her dream. An island where one had to help build a civilisation. She had been hesitant at first but it was a challenge and she never backed down from one. She had safely delivered her father to England where he was reunited with her mother and their marriage hopefully saved. While she knew she should be returning to Melbourne and to Jack, she found that this offer intrigued her. She supposed she could stay awhile, see how it went. If it didn't go well she could always return to Melbourne, to Jack.

Spotting a stream not far, she reasoned that following it would most likely lead to civilization that they were attempting to build. She just hoped it wasn't too far or she was heading in the wrong direction. Hoping, she would find someone soon. It was warmer than she had expected but coming from England, perhaps that wasn't surprising as it had recently been Christmas there. Shredding her coat and scarf she threw them over her arm and after slipping off her shoes carried them in her other hand. She'd missed the sand beneath her feet. It reminded her of home. Suddenly feeling homesick she wondered if this was the best idea. 'Come now Phryne, you know this will be alright. Back down from an adventure? That's not you,' she told herself.

Taking a breathe she continued on to the river.
