Paradise. Completely and utterly so. Kate had taken advantage of her new setting when she first arrived, and slept on the beach. She didn't even mind being woken up by the incoming tide on her feet and legs. Yoga had been the best it had been in a long while. Her muscles had been worked, but the tense knots were beginning to unravel. It seemed as if every breath she took in, her entire being was cleansed.

Then she learned about the lack of coffee. The world was going to end. Everything was going to go to utter shit. Not really, but in Kate's mind, it would. Coffee was one of her primary items to survive. A sign of a true addiction, but Kate would never admit to that. It was simply essential. No one could argue with that, and if they did, Kate wouldn't listen. Alcohol seemed to be on the same boat, but Kate rated coffee higher on her personal necessity scale.

Finding the community center hadn't been difficult at all as Christine had said. It had given Kate some time to wander and see just what sort of things were on the island. With her jeans cuffed, plaid shirt tied in the front and sleeves rolled up, and a brightly colored flower tucked into the messy bun of hair, Kate almost looked the island part. If she had to graduate to some silly coconut bra and grass skirt, she'd be game.

Slipping her shoes on, Kate headed inside to take a look around and see who else she would be sharing this island with.

Diana had been taking a nap - she hadn't expected to feel so tired during this pregnancy, especially considering it was abbreviated. Yet, there she was, napping most days. Usually outside in the sunshine, though that morning she had moved inside into the room she had been enjoying in the community center. It was more comfortable for her back, after all, and it had been aching for a few days now.

She looked up when an unfamiliar woman walked in. And smiled brightly in greeting. She enjoyed when the gods brought in newcomers. Diana had been learning to get to know everyone, their backgrounds, often so varied from her own. "Hello," she said. "I'm Diana. Are you Kate?"

In truth, Kate had not been expecting anyone to greet her by name. It added a bit of ease to her arrival, and made her immediately feel more welcomed. The exchanges she had shared over the network had been amusing, but there was something different when it came to human interaction. Seeing a person's face, their expressions, and eyes helped her read people.

"That would be me. Fresh off the proverbial boat you could say." Kate smiled, offering her hand. "Nice to meet you Diana. Boy or girl?" Because Kate liked to know things. Some would call her nosy, but Kate called it gathering information.
