Ella grinned broadly at the sight of Pepper and Chayse walking into the kitchen. "Oh, but I am so pleased to see you," she greeted, setting her knife aside to walk toward the other woman. Careful of Chayse, she gave her friend a hug and held on a bit longer than was strictly necessary.
"I did not want to bother you, and if you are on your way, I do not intend to hold you up," she prefaced. "But my son is here on the this part of the island now and I am not sure what I should do." Ella was practically bursting with more questions, but she held off asking them until it was clear to her that she could. If Pepper was on her way elsewhere, Ella wouldn't stop her of course.
