This place really was an amazing second chance, but she understood that it could be hard to let go of the past and truly embrace the opportunities you were presented. Especially if you felt like you didn't deserve it. She didn't know what exactly Clarke had done, but the fact that she seemed to be carrying so much guilt over her past actions led Darcy to believe that she was a truly good person.
