It was very kind of him to let her help, and Ella smiled in her thanks. "Dessert is usually a favorite," she agreed. And the apples did look quite lovely. "Perhaps some kind of tart or cobbler? I know recipes for both that we should be able to make with what we have on hand already," she suggested, looking around. It wasn't often that anyone deferred a choice to her, so she was a bit uncomfortable that Oliver was giving her the choice. She tried not to let it show.
"Do you have much cooking experience, Oliver?" she asked, hoping to deflect a bit away from herself.
