Ella was never too far from the kitchen. She had been told a few times that she didn't need to look after everyone, but she took great pleasure in it. They were so much kinder than Lady Tremaine and her step-sisters, and that kindness went a long way in making her want to do her part to contribute. People often came and went as well, so it wasn't as if she was the only one tending to the needs of the others in terms of food. Usually, when she saw someone else in the kitchen, she'd go to tidy up elsewhere. It was never her wish to disturb anyone.
She didn't notice Oliver at the cabinet until he turned and spoke to her. "Would you like some help? I was hoping to be able to cook something for the bonfire as well," Ella admitted warmly. Cooking with another person was sometimes very personal, so sharing sometimes became intimate that way, but sometimes it didn't. She didn't want to insert herself in his activities if he didn't want her to.
