Re: Tony & Mary
Tony just nodded, and reached a hand out towards her hand taking hold of it, squeezing it, "I don't know Jim personally, at all, so I can't tell you how he feels or the reasons for any of those sorts of things. That's a conversation for you two, but what I can say is, being a man who's struggled to tell someone you love them, and fearing the idea of children... well in my case I knew my father, but I didn't know him well. He was cold, and there's a fear of becoming that sort of father. And also, a fear of not being able to be a good father because you never learned how to do it."
He then frowned, "Also, love is a dangerous thing. It's a terrifying thing. That's in a normal world, here? We're expected to forego monogamy. Pledging your love to someone opens up for emotions that you might not feel comfortable dealing with in a world where you're expected to act differently."
He then lifted his hand from her, "Jim seems like a good guy, I'm sure he's struggling with how to approach this scenario."
