She was right about that. People to see, things to do. He kept himself busy. It wasn't at all the structure that came with being in Starfleet and in command of the Enterprise, but it was self-imposed structure and that was fine with Jim. "One would think that being on a deserted island paradise, we'd all run into each other a lot more often than once a week at a bonfire."
He turned enough so that he was facing her instead of the fire and nodded. "Yeah," he said. "Mary's pregnant." There were times when he thought of the baby as his - because it was, of course, his son - but there were other times when he had to remind himself that this wasn't a normal situation and that they would be giving the baby to Arva. "I'm sure he'll be making an appearance any day now, really."
