Jim & Rose
Rose had missed the bonfire last week after Oliver had pulled her aside at dinner and asked if they could talk. He'd wanted to tell him about him and Felicity expecting a baby before she ended up hearing it in some other way. She couldn't say the news had thrilled her, but she was doing her best not to think about it. Relationships were different here. Monogamy wasn't really a thing. And while there was a big part of her rebellious nature that liked that, there was also a part of her that missed feeling [...] special, she guessed. There was a part of her that wanted to be someone's first choice.
She'd come down here tonight because she knew she needed to be more social and she grinned when she spotted Jim Kirk down a few frets away from the fire. It seemed like ages ago she'd flirted with him during one of these things. She could barely even remember what they'd talked about that night. Time seemed to pass on the island without much notice and she honestly couldn't even say how long she'd been here already. Sometimes she hated that. Sometimes she thought maybe she should just go back home.
"Penny for your thoughts," she said as she approached him, but then she grinned and added, "well, not a literal penny, 'cause I don't actually have any money..."
