Mary actually giggled. Howard would probably love this conversation.
"You've given me something to look forward to then. I'm almost positive that Howard feels that there is enough of him to go around."
Maybe it was because Mary liked Peggy and didn't see her as threatening. Usually if Mary didn't see a woman as a threat it was because she didn't feel the woman was on her level, but it was different with Peggy. Mary considered her a friend, someone who was her equal. Perhaps that was why she was so comfortable talking about this. That and the fact that she did not have feelings for Howard the way that she did for Jim.
