WHO: Octavia Blake and OPEN WHAT: Contemplating WHEN: Sunday morning, sunrise WARNINGS: TBD STATUS: Open, Incomplete
There was a sense of peace Octavia found when she was on the beach watching the sun rise over the ocean that she never experienced before coming to the island. After spending the majority of her life locked in small spaces, the sheer vastness of the sea was compelling and she loved breathing in the fresh air as she watched the world come awake. Now that she was so close to her due date, it was nearly impossible to get comfortable and sleep was rather elusive, so she found herself coming to the beach more frequently.
The baby inside her seemed to enjoy the ocean too if the kicking and movement were an indication. She ran her hand over her stomach in an effort to soothe the child. Even though the capability existed to find out the biological sex, she opted not to. It didn't matter much since she was planning to give the baby to Arva as soon as he or she was born. She wasn't even sure if she was going to name the child. It still amazed her that her mother was able to hide her pregnancy for nine months in the tightly controlled environment of the Ark and going through this gave her a newfound respect for the woman who gave her life.
Octavia was grateful to be here, grateful that her child would have a better life with Arva than he or she would have had pretty much anywhere else. This place was truly a paradise and she had no intention of leaving and returning to the violence and pain of the ground. A small part of her considered keeping the child and raising it on her own, but she knew that she wasn't in a place where she could handle that on her own.
With a sigh, she turned away from the ocean to head back to the community center for breakfast and noticed someone in the distance. Apparently she wasn't the only one who appreciated the solitude of the mornings by the sea.
