I woke up this morning to the sound and smell of rain and realized that besides that snow we had here a while back, I couldn't remember that last time experienced a natural rain shower. Though I guess one could argue that this might not be completely natural itself, seeing as how I bet Arva and the other gods are in complete control of the weather.

If anyone is particularly hungry, I've managed to catch quite a ridiculous amount of fish today. I have the boat pulled up on the shore and the fish laid out on the deck so that you can peruse. All are open for taking except for the yellowtail. That one is mine.

Oh, no, it's not all, also... uh... you're all wonderful people and so I'm currently working on developing a speaker system to see if we can't amplify some music from my large library of music currently stuffed in the memory banks of my Spider-Armor. But I also figured we could use around the main community (not on people's homes) for paging or, I don't know, moooooooore music. Or even a cool, obnoxious siren every time we have a weird snowstorm.

But also, because it could help people find the place easier if they just randomly appear and, like me, are totally lost.

Right, then. I need this baby to be born already. I'm the size of a house and I can hardly sleep because there is no comfortable position to do so in.

I'm going to take a walk. It will probably only stir him up and not help push him out, but it is currently more comfortable to walk than it is to sit.

Despite the fact that pregnancy is expedited on this island, I shall be quite glad when I have this baby and can go back to walking normally. I am starting to feel like a very fat penguin.

I found out today that Jim and I are having a boy.

It feels like this child - or rather, he - is continually doing somersaults in my stomach. I blame his father's genes entirely.

It's been a long time since I've lived a life lacking structure like this one days. The moment I joined Starfleet, everything became pretty rigid and controlled, even when I was in control. Now I'm not saying that we need any kind of control around here because that would probably defeat the purpose, but I do think it's not a bad idea for me to introduce a little more structure into my own life. If anyone's got any ideas how to do that, I'm listening.

Sometimes when I wake up in the morning, it takes me a minute to remember that I'm on terra ground and not on the Enterprise.

Christopher Allen Chapel was born early this morning at the Medical Center. We're both fine and if anyone wants to stop by and meet him, we're at home. He's pretty damn amazing.
