It was very different. I mean, there were still big bads that came to town every now and again, but my pack was huge and my mother could call on the Alpha pack — before they were an Alpha pack and they were still individual Alphas with their own betas — to help. They would call to her, too, when they needed us.
The way things were when I was young, it's nothing like what you guys had to endure. Nothing like that. My mother would've been crushed to see what happened to what she considered to be her town if she was still alive to see everything that happened from the time Peter turned Scott, on. It was much better, Isaac...you would've liked it. I tried to emulate her but I did a really bad job. She was teaching Laura to be the next Alpha. It wasn't supposed to reach me. Laura was the next in line. So I was a really bad Alpha. But it was so good, once. It was really something. It was something to be proud to be a part of and things were good back then. Really good.
