SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 1ST 1/24 - 1/25 Back to school sales going on in most Paradigm stores that carry school supplies. The mall in particular is packed with fiery eyed moms getting in last minute shopping for their childrens' return to academic life. MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 2ND 1/26 - 1/27 no notable events. TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3RD 1/28 - 1/29 A group of students, probably celebrating the last day of summer break, go joy riding through the town, honking their horns and yelling. The noise can be heard throughout the night, into the AM hours. WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4th 1/30 - 1/31 BACK TO SCHOOL DAY! All the schools in Paradigm open their doors promptly at 7:00 a.m. for the first school day of the year. Last year's seniors have graduated and moved on and a fresh wave of freshmen have come over to the highschool from Paradigm Middle School. THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 5th 2/1 - 2/2 It's just the second day back to school and already some prankster is trying to make a name for himself. How? By filling the ventalation system with crushed ice. Students arrive that morning to find snow falling from the vents. By noon about half a foot of it has accumulated in the halls and classrooms. Of course, school continues on as usual, with students treading through snow to get from class to class. FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 6th 2/3 - 2/4 First friday of the new school year and almost the entire student body seems relieved it came quickly. The Bayou has a special foam party that starts at 9:00 PM in celebration and The Cup offers an early happy hour for teachers and parents. SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 7th 2/5 - 2/6 no events |
