Note for Harry Potter
A charmed note arrives at Harry's door and flutters patiently, waiting for Harry to wake and discover it. In large print across the folded flaps is the message: DO NOT READ BEFORE FULLY AWAKE!!!
Dad,
Hopefully, if my charm did what it was supposed to do, you're not reading this until morning. If this note did wake you up, though, I'm sorry but I really think I need to get this written down while it's still fresh.
You see, it started because I was having nightmares couldn't sleep. That was the only reason I was awake and noticed the owl outside my window. It was a letter from Merope, Dad, and in it she says... well, she really says an awful lot, but something struck me as particularly interesting.
I think Nagini is here, with Voldemort. You see, Merope said that there was a snake that wanted to eat her, but wouldn't, and I can't see him having just gotten another snake since showing up. So, it has to be Nagini, right?
At any rate, that got me thinking about the battle and the horcruxes and, well, probably the same thing everyone else is thinking about I reckon. Then I had what Professor Inean used to call a paradigm shift. It's been so obvious but I don't think anyone has really seen it just yet.
You can't kill Voldemort.
What I mean is, he can't die. Not the one that's here at any rate. Not unless he showed up after everyone thought you were dead and before Uncle Neville killed Nagini, in the final battle. It's just impossible, otherwise. After all, like you explained to me before, you had a part of his soul inside of you, too. You were one of the horcruxes.
Thing is, though, to him, you still are one. In his timeline, you haven't died yet. That piece of him is still inside you, back there, when he's from. You don't have it in you anymore, since it was already destroyed during the battle. So unless he's from that really narrow bit of time, I don't think he can actually be killed.
I hope I'm wrong. I really hope you tell me that I have this all mixed up and that I'm wrong. But, if I'm not, I think it may be time to turn to some of the people in this city for help. Someone out there has to be able to do something, right? Or, am I wrong? Please tell me I'm wrong.
Love,
Al
