SUBJECT: About that favor
Ben,
I wanted to discuss that favor I asked of you in person, but there isn't any time now. Originally, it was just a backup plan in case Exar Kun decided to attack. Now, though, it applies to something else as well.
Okay. Time to get to the point.
I think Bastila Shan may be turning back to the Dark Side. In fact, I'm almost positive. Now, don't get me wrong. Another Sith running around is never a good thing, but with her it's... well, it'd be almost as bad as my grandfather going back to the Dark Side.
She wants to meet me, tonight. I made her a promise a while ago that, if she went back to the Dark Side, I'd kill her. If she has, I intend to keep my promise, but I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do it. She's powerful, very powerful, and I'm just one Jedi and nowhere near the same league as most of my family.
That isn't my favor, though. My favor is this. If I meet with her, if I try to kill her, and if I fail... I want you to promise me that you'll make sure nothing happens to my Uncle Luke. He's only ten, he doesn't know very much at all about his abilities, and he has to be kept safe.
I know you can get him out of this city if you have to. I know you can probably get him off this rock you call home if it comes down to it. It may. It may not. As of right now, my grandfather is still on the right side of things. If that changes, though, or even if it doesn't... Bastila is strong. Exar Kun is strong. I'm not sure even Anakin Skywalker himself would be powerful enough to stop them both. Not even with Obi-Wan Kenobi and my brother at his side.
So I'm asking you, as a friend, to please make sure my Uncle Luke stays safe. If it comes down to it and if it looks like the Jedi are going to fail again, get him out of here. Please.
I'll get in touch as soon as the meeting is over if things do go well. If not, it's been an honor knowing you.
