Gwen's eyes instantly looked in the direction of where it seemed her voice was coming. She nodded, letting the woman know she had the right person. She seemed nice, nice enough at least. And she needed someone right now, someone to help her.
"I do not have any money for food or drink," she said quietly. "Perhaps there is somewhere else we could go?"
She did not know if things were different now, but food cost a lot, and she did not know how to purchase such things. She had lived in the past with little or nothing occasionally, like when the drought and famine hit a year or so ago. She could handle it for a day or two.
