"They aren't," Lindsey replied with blunt honesty, preferring not to sugarcoat that truth. "It's jealousy that does it. They can't comprehend the way in which we work, so we are something to be wary of unless they lose something they care about to us." He shook his head. "A statement of our times when wealth is the most important."
He could get away with saying something like that. It wasn't the wealth that attracted Lindsey to his position, but to the power, the ability to bend people to his will as opposed to the other way around. But this woman, much like Charlie, was much stronger than that from what he could read of her.
"Then maybe you would like to join our side." Boldly, he held out his hand. "My name is Lindsey McDonald. I work for Wolfram and Hart."
