The Force was amazing but sometimes Google was more helpful. As soon as Jacen knew that Sarah thought she was an actress, he took to the internet, searching until he found a direction to look in. And then, after quickly filling Tenel Ka in on his plan, he set out, heading for what a website claimed was her home in Los Angeles.
As he got closer and closer, he stretched out with the Force, trying to sense his friend's presence. It was weak, but he could feel her out there. She was alive, that much he knew. The weakness wasn't the same as when others had gone missing and were shielded or dying, it was more of a difference, as though a fundamental part of what made her Sarah had been altered. In a way he supposed it had been, though he clung to the belief that the soul of her remained.
And he was grateful to be out of the Hyperion, the place that he had made his home over the past year. It didn't feel like home any more. Tenel Ka was there, a fact for which he would be eternally grateful, but everything else was wrong. Kennedy believed she was married, Sam thought he was British. Jacen privately missed the Sam he had gotten to know recently, the one with more in common with himself than either liked to admit sometimes. He missed Sarah's humor and counsel, and Nathan's sharp intelligence. He was desperately worried for Heidi and the boys and cursed the Senior Partners for doing this to someone innocent like them. He even found he missed Faith, having become used to the volatile Slayer's leadership.
This would end. Starting now, he would get his family back. It took more than blood to make someone family and since his arrival in LA, despite his best efforts, he had grown to truly love the people he was with.
So he arrived outside the front door of Sarah's supposed house. For a moment he considered walking right in, but he stopped himself just in time, choosing instead to ring the doorbell.
