She loved the process, and the memories. Everything about this, and in the absence of younger siblings Ruby enjoyed teaching Kendra to make the ice cream. It had been something she'd always done with her Dad as a kid, something she'd always gotten so excited over watching and as she grew older helping with and finally able to do herself. Though she didn't like to. Her Dad helping was part of it. It was all part of it. And she wouldn't trade it for anything.
"Told you you'd get the A" she said to Kendra with a smile, pride for her friend readily visible, before looking with an expert eye over the mixture, It was ready for the container, ready for the salt to do its thing.
"Salt me" she called to her Dad as she started working on transfering the mixture to the container in which it would freeze. "Does it look right to you Dad? I think we're good to start the fun bit"
