Thing was Jack actually knew what would happen if he let her go. If she jumped there was still a chance shed live, he couldn't let that happen. He had no choice the way his mind rationalized it. This was better for everybody that she died. One way or another. As a cop he had wanted to bring her in but as a husband he wanted her dead. It was within his legal rights as a cop. He felt like he was in danger, like this was the only way to protect his wife. Himself he could care less about in all honesty. She could threaten him all she wanted bit when it came to the people he loved the bitch could go to hell.
The bullet had him stunned into silence as it just..fell. It came out from an expert shot and all he could do was stare as she started talking again. His mind still trying to comprehend what happened and play catch up, didn't have enough time to process. She was jumping! "Stop!" he shouted again with his side arm locked down at his side as he rushed forward and grabbed at her. He missed and reached for the concrete ledge to hold onto. His hands wentt straight through the solid rock and he fell for a story. grab something or you're done, why aren't you grabbing!" his mind shouted. He reached out forcing himself to concentraite and grabbed at a flagpole. Only stopping to watch Claire jump when he felt for sure he wasn't going to fall anymore. What the hell happened up there? His heart was racing a million miles an hour. Claire was falling and Jack was numb. He hung on the flagpole still several stories up and gasped. Trying to catch his breath and failing, he began to shuffle his hands toward the edge of the roof where he carefully tested it's solidity before letting his feet touch down and letting go. Pulling out his walkie talkie from his belt he took a second before speaking. "Officer in need of back up, and possibly a good shrink." dispatch laughed. " funny, Landors." obviously recognizing his voice on the other side. Sometimes he wished he didn't have such a jokester reputation.
