As earnest as he was about this situation, there was only so many times Ben could stomach being called a liar and condescended to and treated like a crazy person.
"This is why more people should speak up an have our back instead of being bitches too worried about 'breaking brains'," he growled, then looked at Sam, indignant insistence next to Mary's desperation.
"Why am I the one lying? I've got all the proof, I know shit about you that you think I shouldn't, there are a BUNCH of people who all know exactly what I know, and all you have are excuses for how you think I faked something that couldn't be faked this good or about why you can't prove who you are and keep falling back to just 'knowing' or why you can't contact any of the people who should know you or whatever."
Shoulders straightened, the picture of determination edged with a child's fervour. "You think you're a freaking Watcher, so why can't you believe that the Senior Partners are powerful enough to do this? Do you think you're a douchebag, is that it?"
Maybe that was it. Augh. When he got close enough to any of the bed guys, they were getting kicked just like he'd kicked Uriel, kicked and then beat down for turning his uncle into someone who couldn't even believe what was right in front of this face.
