Castiel blinked, only following half of what Ben was saying. Still, he kept one hand on Ben's shoulder the whole time, almost irrationally afraid that if he let go then somehow everything would change again.
Even if for a moment he nearly went to smite the woman who had dared lay a hand on him.
"Language," he corrected, automatically, before he made himself focus enough to try to shed what little light he could over the situation. "Ben, people's memories seem to be being rewritten. I don't know how, though I suspect we all know who's behind it. And I know it wasn't you, no one would think that at all."
He let out a long breath before looking seriously at Ben. "I'm going to be honest, from what I can tell a lot of people have been affected. Including Sam, your Grandpa, both Claires and Faith. And Ruby. I haven't found your dad yet, but I suspect he might be affected as well. But your Grandma is fine, though obviously worried out of her mind for you. So I'm going to need you to look after her and help make sure she's alright while I track the rest of them down, okay?" He wasn't sure if it was entirely fair, laying it all on Ben like that, but sheltering him would probably do more harm than good. And he suspected that Mary needed the support more than anyone.
