Castiel was, to put it mildly, freaking out. The Winchesters, save for Mary, were gone, and Ruby was missing and it seemed Claire and Faith were as well. If it wasn't for the myriad of other people who were wrong or different as well, then the angel would be sure that it was a direct attack against the Winchesters. As it was he had no clue whatsoever what was going on. And Eve seemed to be some where else.
However he did know he had two priorities of equal importance. One was to find the Winchesters and get them back where they were supposed to be and the other was to keep Mary calm.
So were he human again he would have possibly fainted from the relief at hearing Ben's call to him. It took him only seconds to pinpoint the location and appear by his side with a fluttering of wings. He wasn't even sure if Ben had registered his arrival when he bent down and grabbed the boy into a hug.
"Thank God," he stepped back, his hands still on Ben's shoulders as he looked closely at him. "How are--- what is that?" His gaze lingered on the bruise on Ben's face, his own expression becoming thunderous. Something was getting smote.
