Tara was absolutely tickled pink with Liam. Despite this entire crazy situation, he made her smile. His charm had no affect on her but that didn't mean, from an objective standpoint, that she couldn't see how it might on another female. One that was straight ... and interested. "Thank you for that." Her words were genuine, not at all sarcastic, but you couldn't miss the amusement in the words.
She couldn't help but look mildly impressed that he knew what her name meant. Though she shouldn't have been all that surprised, what little she knew of Angel and how vampires personalities were affected by their human side, it should have been affected that Liam was a flirt that did his research. Rather than one of the regular ones ... not that Tara had much experience with flirters. But she did have eyes and ears. If Wil- a female had come about to her and spouted that out, she could admit that she would have been intrigued.
Tara hesitated at his question, but she was immediately grateful by his following statement. Tara knew a bit about etymology herself, even relating to birth names. It was what happened when you were a complete and total dork. "Liam is a perfectly fine name." She said, "It's short for William." She paused trying to remember, "Which came from the old germanic translation of Will Helmet. When you put them together?" She explained, looking up at him. "You get Wilhem which is ... wh-which is where your name comes from." She trailed off, realizing she'd been becoming excited over the most simple thing. Not that she was embarrassed about it, but it would have lead her into rambling and that just ended up being confusing for everyone. "Basically your name means strong-willed protector." Then she gave a crooked, and a bit sheepish, smile. "But I'm sure you already knew all of that."
