The former vengeance demon barely acknowledged either of them, as absorbed as she was with her beloved money. Castiel looked slightly bemused at her before he reached for Ruby, pulling her in close with a soft smile, leaning down to kiss her gently.
"Good. And not quite yet."
Just occasionally, he could be playful.
"Close your eyes." And in case she didn't, he reached with one hand, lightly covering her eyes as he slipped his other arm around her waist. Within a moment, and with another fluttering of wings, he transported the two of them away from the shop.
"Now open them," he removed his hand, but kept his hold on her, keeping her close to him as he revealed their destination. The top of the Hollywood sign, the place he liked to come to alone to think. Even Eve Levine didn't tend to come here with him. Shifting his position slightly, he stood behind Ruby, both arms wrapped around her to protect her from the cold.
"You said you wanted to change how you saw the world," he murmured in her ear. "So I thought I would start by showing you the perspective I see."
