That was it, job done. Efficiently too. It was frustrating that Lilah hadn't known anything that would actually help get Cathy back, but she had still given up everything she had known and would now be out of it long enough that the Senior Partners wouldn't mobilize.
The last of the details were written down, along with the hotel Lilah would be in and under which name. As soon as Lilah was secured, Faith would drop the whole file off at the Welcome Center.
"You pay enough for a place like this and no one asks anything," she smirked faintly. "And I'm paying because we need her secured. The motorbike fund can take a bit of a dent for now."
It almost pained her to admit it, but she and Ruby made a good team. They worked well together and did know each other's strengths. If it wasn't for the affair, they could have been really close.
Looking down at Lilah, she let out a long sigh, some though not all of her tension leaving her. This plan hadn't been fun. Actually, it had involved dragging herself through the emotional wringer and Ruby had managed to get her where it hurt on more than one thing. Still, it had paid off and it was worth it, even if she did now want to drag herself off to lick her wounds in more than one way.
"Yeah, let's get her sorted." She moved to help carry Lilah in a way that would scream 'drunken friend' at the hotel. Job done.
